Up until a few moments ago there were over 800 blog posts representing over 10+ years that I have been using WordPress. Now they are archived on my computer and erased (as much as anything can get erased on the internet) from whatever database they were being stored in. I did this with the purpose of starting completely fresh.
“But Charlie,” you say, “You rebuilt your website not too long ago. Why do it again?”
Good question. You are absolutely right. I did spend a great deal of time rebuilding Room 7609. Instead of focusing on what I wanted to write and share here I decided to focus all of it on my studio Loose Endings. The problem with doing that was that I stopped writing here altogether once I was done. I actively avoided the site. I had the time, if not the energy, to build something here and flat out didn’t. And this did not sit well with me. I took a long look at why this was and that in turn made me look at other aspects that were connected.
It’s a long and convoluted explanation that I would rather not go through. (For the last two hours I sat here and tried.) But I will say at the end of all this introspection the one thing that was clear to me was that in order for me to refill my creative well and be content in this moment I needed to clean my virtual house. So I did. Now that the walls are bare it feels rather refreshing.
Room 7609 is the space where I plan on sharing the things that bring me joy, contentment, and maybe even happiness. Some things I can confidently say you will find me writing more on are -books, things I find geeky, fountain pens, crafty and creative things. So if you are up for that please stick around for a bit.
My name is Charlie. Welcome to Room 7609.
