Tonight’s Inks & Drinks meetup was lots of fun. Josh (IG – @nibbedinthebud) came to do some custom nib work. When a few of the Inks & Drinks crew found out I had yet to dip my pens in the world of custom grinds they were excited for me to do so and even helped me decide on what to request to have done.
I brought an Edison Premiere with a medium nib and settled on a smooth cursive italic for it. After testing the grind Josh adjusted it slightly for how I write and the pen ended up with a slightly oblique smooth cursive italic.
The Kaweco Sport which also had a medium nib became a stub nib. I asked Josh to treat it like a fine nib and make it as small as possible as I had just tried writing with a pen that had a Kirk Speer mini stub on it and loved it.
I can now officially say that I have two custom ground fountain pens…and what’s better for a pen enthusiast than to have a bespoke fountain pen? Not much.
